Breeding methods and precautions of pineapple

Breeding methods and precautions of pineapple

1. Maintenance methods

1. Substrate selection: You can choose loose, well-ventilated acidic or slightly acidic sandy soil with a pH value of 4.5~6.0, which is conducive to the growth of plant roots and improves nutrient absorption.

2. Temperature management: It is best to keep the normal temperature at around 21~35℃. In winter, the room temperature should be above 12~15℃ to avoid the death of the plant due to low temperature.

3. Water management: It needs sufficient water during the growth process. It has strong drought resistance and a few days of water shortage will not have a big impact on its growth. However, during the breeding process, sufficient water should be given to facilitate its growth.

4. Light management: It likes to grow in a warm, direct sunny environment, and sufficient sunlight is the basis for its good growth. When cultivating in the greenhouse, do not shade the plant in winter and place it in the sun after taking it out of the house so that it can grow well.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Cutting: Cut the leaves with a knife and dry them in the sun for 2 hours. This will help awaken the plant life. Then plant the cuttings in the soil, spray an appropriate amount of water on the surface, place it in a cool place, and wait for it to take root.

2. Division: You can choose to divide the plant in spring, take the plant out of the pot and remove excess soil. Use scissors to divide it, leaving the roots of each plant, and then plant them.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Yellow leaves: If the leaves turn yellow, it is likely that too much fertilizer has been applied, causing root burns. At this time, we should change the potting soil in time (try to choose a clay pot or a tile pot) to reduce damage.

2. Pests: Mainly scale insects. When the larvae hatch, you can spray them with 1000 times diluted 80% DDT emulsion to prevent adult insects from spreading and damaging plants.

IV. Other issues

1. Is it poisonous? The pineapple is a non-toxic plant, and its fruits are plump and edible.

2. Can it be planted in the ground: The requirements for the growing environment of the pineapple are not high, so it can be planted in the ground and is very suitable for large-scale planting.
