Breeding methods and precautions for Star Prince

Breeding methods and precautions for Star Prince

1. Maintenance methods

1. Soil: The soil for planting Star Prince should be loose, fertile, well-drained and breathable. It can be mixed with garden soil, coarse sand, and rotten leaf soil. The soil prepared in this way is very suitable for growing Star Prince.

2. Water: When watering, do not use too much water to avoid water storage in the pot. Just keep the soil moist. Sufficient water absorption can promote thick and full branches and leaves.

3. Nutrients: Fertilizer is necessary during the growth period of Star Prince, and compound fertilizer is fine. The amount of fertilizer should not be too much. It is suitable to apply small amounts frequently. This is to avoid excessive absorption of fertilizer and the long growth distance between stems and leaves that affects the appearance.

4. Light: It likes to grow in a mild environment with plenty of sunshine, and does not like high temperature, hot and stuffy environment. Provide shade for the Star Prince at noon when the temperature is highest and the light is strongest.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Pruning: After the Star Prince has been cultivated for a period of time, the leaves will turn yellow and wilt. At this time, you should use small scissors to gently prune these leaves. Avoid infecting other leaves, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of other leaves.

2. Reproduction: Cutting propagation is usually the main method. In the growing season, cut the top branches and insert them into sandy loam. The temperature should be controlled at around 18 to 24 degrees Celsius. Sprinkle some water to keep it moist, and it will take root and grow new branches in about 15 to 20 days.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Scale insects: A common pest in growing star princes is scale insects, which suck the juice from the leaves. Untimely prevention and control will cause the star prince to die, and it should be sprayed with diluted cypermethrin.

2. Root rot: Excessive watering will cause water to accumulate in the pot, which will cause the roots to rot. The roots should be pruned as soon as possible after they rot, and the rotten parts should be cut off. After disinfection, you can plant it.

IV. Other issues

1. How to spend the winter: Star Prince will be in a dormant period in winter. At this time, the soil should be kept dry, the temperature should be controlled at around five degrees Celsius, and it should be placed in a light-transmitting place for maintenance.

2. Can it be cultivated indoors: Star Prince can be cultivated indoors. It has a beautiful and neat appearance and is suitable for placement on windowsills, computer desks, and TV tables. It is highly ornamental.
