Characteristics of daffodils

1. Root system characteristics

The root system of daffodils is fibrous, growing from the stem disk. It is cylindrical in shape and appears milky white. Its root system is very fragile, so it can be easily broken and will not regenerate after being broken. Its bulb is oval or conical in shape, and the outer layer of the bulb is covered with a yellowish-brown film.

2. Leaf characteristics

Its leaves are pale green, not very full, flat, and slightly blunt at the tip. The front of its leaves is frosted and the veins are parallel and not curved. The leaves are usually around 30-50cm long, relatively long, and have no petioles.

3. Flower characteristics

When it blooms, it usually has 6 petals, but there are some special ones that have 8 petals, which are also oval in shape. There is also goose yellow at the base of the petals, the flowers are white, and are accompanied by a fragrance. There is a protective cover on the outside of the pistil, and it usually blooms in January and February.

4. Fruit characteristics

Its fruit is a small capsule, which usually does not produce seeds. Its capsule has developed through the ovary and will crack on the back after growing and maturing.
