How to grow tulips

How to grow tulips

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: It is best to choose slightly acidic sandy soil that is rich in humus, loose and well-drained.

2. Watering: It is best to keep the soil neither dry nor wet. There is no need to water during the growth period, just keep it moist. When the temperature is high and the weather is dry, water it 1-2 times in moderation.

3. Fertilization: Generally use decomposed garbage fertilizer, various cake fertilizers, etc. It is very sensitive to fertilizer. From stems and leaves to buds, only 2-3 times of top dressing are needed.

4. Light: It is best to receive about 8 hours of light every day, which can allow it to grow better and is conducive to its normal flowering. Although it likes sunlight, shading measures should be taken when the sunlight is strong.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Propagation by dividing bulbs: dig up dormant bulbs and dry them, place them in a cool place, and plant them in 9-10 spaces.

2. Seed propagation: The seeds need a low temperature of 7-9℃, and generally they will germinate after 30-40 days. They are mostly sown in the open field in autumn. After wintering, the seeds will germinate and break through the soil. They will form bulbs in June, and will rise and be stored after dormancy. It will take 5-6 years to bloom.

3. Common diseases

Generally there are gray mold, root rot, etc. Root rot will cause the roots to rot in the early stage, which has little effect on it. If it is serious, it will cause the flowers to wither. It is necessary to ensure better drainage of the soil, disinfect the soil, and spray it with pesticides.
