Digitalis cultivation methods and precautions

Digitalis cultivation methods and precautions

1. Temperature

Digitalis prefers a slightly cooler environment, specifically between twelve and nineteen degrees, which is most conducive to its growth. Try to control the temperature within the shading range. In summer, a too hot environment will threaten its health, so you need to spray more water and ventilate it frequently. In winter, the temperature can be kept above ten degrees to ensure a safe winter.

2. Lighting

Digitalis prefers light, but it can also grow in semi-shaded areas. Try to accept mild light and avoid too strong light. In winter, it is beneficial to keep a certain amount of light, and it is best to place it in a bright windowsill or other place.

3. Soil

Digitalis's requirements are reflected in two aspects: nutrition and drainage. The most important thing is drainage, as it does not tolerate waterlogging very well. The plant is quite tolerant to poor soil conditions, but for its growth, it is better to mix some base fertilizer into the soil in advance.

4. Watering

Digitalis requires a lot of water during its growth stage, but water cannot accumulate. In addition to keeping the soil slightly moist, you should also spray water when it is dry and hot. On the contrary, after the growth period, when winter comes, you need to water as little as possible, and it is more appropriate for the soil to be slightly dry.

5. Fertilization

Digitalis requires more fertilizer when it grows fast, so it is better to fertilize once a month. All kinds of nutrients need to be involved, so it is best to use compound fertilizer. When applying fertilizer, be careful not to get fertilizer on the leaves.
