When is sugarcane planted?

When is sugarcane planted?

1. Planting time

Generally speaking, sugarcane is planted around February to April. You can choose to do it in spring or autumn according to your needs, but in spring, it should not be later than April at the latest. If you want to plant in autumn, you can do it in August or September, not too early or too late. It is best to start planting in late August.

Usually, if planted in spring, it will grow and mature in May-July, while if planted in autumn, it will have to wait until December to mature. It is suitable for growing in places with large temperature differences between winter and summer. It is widely planted in Guangdong, Hainan, Sichuan and Yunnan in my country.

2. Planting points

1. Base fertilizer: Before planting, add an appropriate amount of base fertilizer to the soil. You can use compost, soil fertilizer, etc., or you can add a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

2. Soil selection: Choose soil suitable for its growth, which is very beneficial to the growth of its root system. It is best to use loose and relatively fertile soil.
