Cultivation methods and precautions of Christmas cactus

Cultivation methods and precautions of Christmas cactus

1. Water

During its vigorous growth stage, Christmas cactus should be kept moist, not too dry or too humid. The amount of water should be controlled properly. Too much water may cause the plant to die. It is better to water less rather than have water accumulation. During maintenance, the plant should be protected from rain. In hot weather and dry air, the plant and the ground should be sprayed with water.

2. Temperature

It is best to maintain the breeding temperature at around 25℃, and it will grow more vigorously. When the temperature is below 10℃ or above 30℃, plant growth will be hindered. The temperature during the flowering period should be 10-15℃, and the potted plants should be moved to a place with diffuse light, the flowering period will be longer.

3. Fertilization

When fertilizing it, you can use decomposed liquid fertilizer, the concentration should be as low as possible, and do not use chemical fertilizers. After entering autumn, you can increase the amount of fertilizer appropriately, but be careful not to apply raw fertilizer. When the plants enter a semi-dormant state in summer and winter, the amount of fertilizer should be controlled.

IV. Precautions

Because it grows well, the pot should be changed every year. If it is not changed in time, it will not have enough space to grow. Repotting can be done between March and April in spring. When repotting, the weak branches can be cut off to facilitate the growth of new branches.
