Cultivation method of Huayueye succulent

Huayueye is a very beautiful and noble common succulent. It is a succulent plant of the genus Echeveria in the Crassulaceae family. Depending on the variety, the leaves are thick and full or slender and thin. Let’s talk about the cultivation method of Huayueye succulent.

1. Suitable environment

The suitable temperature for the growth of Hua Yue Ye is 18-25℃, and the tolerable temperature is 5-35℃. Autumn and spring are the peak growing seasons. When the temperature is below 5℃, you need to keep the soil in the pot slightly dry and reduce the amount of watering. When the ambient temperature exceeds 30℃, appropriate shading is needed to avoid direct sunlight and sunburn of the leaves. Hua Yue Ye likes warm, dry, sunny and ventilated environment. Ventilation and lighting are very important. These two points must be met, otherwise Hua Yue Ye will be difficult to grow well.

2. Pot soil selection

For planting the moonlit night lily, different sized flower pots should be selected at different stages. You can choose a clay pot or a ceramic pot that is permeable and breathable. In addition, there should be water holes at the bottom of the flowerpot, otherwise water will easily accumulate and cause root rot. The soil used for planting can be made by mixing granular soil and peat soil in a 1:1 ratio. In addition, sufficient nutrients are conducive to plant growth, and a small amount of organic fertilizer can be added to the soil. Yes, you need to change the potting soil according to the growth of the plant every year.

3. Watering properly

The peak growing season for Huayueye is in autumn and spring, and the soil should be kept moist during the growing season. Observe the dryness and wetness of the soil in the pot frequently and do not water too frequently. Normally you can water it every 1-2 weeks. Of course, it also depends on the local climate and humidity. After entering summer, the Moonflower may stop growing completely, or the growth environment may become slow. At this time, keep the environment well ventilated, water as little as possible, and create a diffuse light environment. If you encounter the rainy season, avoid being exposed to the rain for a long time.

4. Bursting side buds and pots

Hua Yue Ye is prone to sprouting side buds. However, in spring, the old leaves on the bottom of the Hua Yue Ye need to be cleaned and broken off. Breaking off the old leaves can improve the air permeability inside the plant. In addition, breaking off the leaves can easily grow new side buds. As long as there are new side buds and they are grown, the Hua Yue Ye can be grown to the point of bursting out of the pot.

5. Provide enough light

Hua Yue Ye is a succulent variety that likes light. In addition, if you want the color of Hua Yue Ye to turn into yellow with red, light is essential, and the more light the better, especially in autumn and spring, full sunlight is enough, as the sunlight is soft at this time. When summer comes, you need to block strong light as the temperature is high and the light is strong to avoid sunburning the leaves.

6. Long-term outdoor cultivation

If you want the colors of the Flower Moon Night to be more and more vivid, in addition to sufficient sunlight and control, a large temperature difference is also indispensable. There is a big temperature difference between spring and autumn in a year. This is the best time for flowers to bloom at night, and they need to be given sufficient sunshine. The flower moonlight night is usually placed outdoors and maintained in the open air. In addition, the moonflowers grown outdoors are more resistant to adversity and can survive the summer more safely.
