How to identify blue cloth skirt

1. Flowers

The corolla of the blue skirt plant is generally blue, and the inflorescence is sharply branched and very dense, extending straight upward, clustered in a cone shape, without bracts. The filaments are attached to the middle part of the corolla tube, are about 0.5mm long, and the corolla length is 5-6mm. The calyx is about 2.5-3.5mm long, with densely covered small soft hairs on the outside. The lobes are ovate or oblong, and the tip is very pointed. The pedicel is 2-3 mm long, the corolla is 5-6 mm long, the lobes are rounded with very obvious reticulation.

2. Fruit

Its nutlets are oval in shape, slightly concave on the back, densely covered with anchor-shaped thorns, with the anchor thorns on the edges connected at the bottom and 3-4mm long. The flowering and fruiting period is usually between May and September.
