How to grow lotus at home

How to grow lotus at home

1. Soil

It is best to use leaf mold or lake mud for home cultivation of lotus. The soil should be as close to the environment of the lotus pond as possible. The soil should be as fertile and loose as possible. Avoid using soil that is too sticky or easily compacted.

2. Lighting

Usually, keep it outdoors as much as possible. It is a light-loving plant and it is best to give it 8 hours of light a day. However, during the hot summer months, it should be placed indoors or in a cool place, away from direct sunlight. It cannot be left in a light-free environment for a long time, as this may cause it to not bloom.

3. Watering

When growing lotus, you must not lack water. As the temperature continues to rise in summer, the amount of watering should also be increased, and it needs to be watered 1-2 times a day. Once the water becomes turbid, replace it with clean water in time. When the temperature is relatively low, it will hibernate and does not need too much water.

4. Temperature

When caring for it at home, you should pay attention to the growth temperature. Only by providing it with a growth environment of 25-30℃ can it grow more luxuriantly.

5. Prevent diseases and pests

If the maintenance environment is too hot or there is no light for a long time, diseases and pests will easily occur. Once the plants are found to be damaged, they should be treated with drugs in time to avoid causing greater harm to the plants.
