Cultivation methods and precautions of orchid grass

Cultivation methods and precautions of orchid grass

1. Soil

When growing orchids, you should choose the soil it likes, which is mainly humus soil. We can buy this kind of soil directly or cultivate it ourselves. Pay attention to making the soil more breathable when cultivating it, so that it will be conducive to its growth.

2. Fertilization

It likes fertilizer. Before planting it, put some base fertilizer in the culture soil to promote its growth faster. Later in the growth period, it will require more fertilizer, so be sure to ensure that there is enough fertilizer. When applying, choose liquid fertilizer or foliar fertilizer, and make the fertilizer concentration appropriately smaller.

3. Change the soil

In the process of raising it, you need to change the soil regularly once a year, so that it can be more conducive to its growth. At the same time, you can also apply appropriate fertilizer, but pay attention to the amount of fertilizer, not too much, to prevent root burn.

4. Watering

Watering is very important for it. If it is summer when the temperature is high, the water evaporates quickly, so you can water it once a day. If it is spring and autumn, you can water it every two or three days. If it is winter, you should water it less or not at all to prevent frost damage.

5. Temperature

It has extremely high temperature requirements, neither too high nor too low. In winter, place it indoors and open the windows for ventilation to allow the air to flow smoothly. The temperature should not be too low. In summer, it is necessary to provide appropriate shade for it and not let the temperature be too high. It is best to keep it in a cool and ventilated place.

6. Pruning

During its growth process, yellow leaves will always appear due to various reasons. At this time, we need to cut them off in time to prevent the loss of water and nutrients, so that it can grow better.

7. Lighting

It likes light very much. The more light it gets, the brighter its leaves will be and the stronger its branches will be. However, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Only diffuse light is needed.
