Can geraniums be grown indoors?

Can geraniums be grown indoors?

1. Can be raised indoors:

Xiaotian is originally relatively strong, has good adaptability, is less susceptible to diseases and pests, and is not picky about the soil in which it grows. In addition, it prefers an environment that is warm in winter and cool in summer, and is also afraid of water and humidity. The most suitable growing seasons are spring and autumn. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the indoor temperature in summer and winter. Generally, the room temperature can be around ten degrees Celsius. Therefore, as long as you do a good job of watering moderately, fertilizing appropriately, maintaining a suitable temperature, and preventing and controlling diseases and pests, Xiaotian can bloom in clusters even if it is grown indoors.

2. Indoor maintenance methods:

1. Water moderately. Xiaotian is afraid of an overly wet soil environment, so even in the dry winter, avoid overwatering, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and fall off, or even rot from the roots and die. Therefore, when growing indoors, water it three to four days a day and keep the soil in the pot slightly moist.

2. Apply appropriate amount of fertilizer. Although Xiaotian can grow in all kinds of soil, it is still necessary to apply appropriate amount of fertilizer for indoor potted ornamental plants. Because the amount of fertilizer to be applied depends on many factors, such as the quality of the soil, the size of the flowers and the pots, it is best to ask the store carefully when purchasing to find out the amount and frequency of fertilizer application.

3. The temperature is suitable. The growth temperature of Xiaotian was mentioned above. To sum up, it needs an environment that is warm in winter and cool in summer. Indoor cultivation can basically meet this condition, but there are also matters that need special attention: First, avoid placing it in places that are easily exposed to the sun, such as sunny windowsills, during the hot summer, and move it to a cool place; second, in winter, the indoor temperature must not be lower than zero degrees, otherwise it will be easily frostbitten, and it must be placed in a sunny place to accumulate light so that Xiaotian can grow smoothly and bloom.

4. Prevent and control diseases and insect pests. The most common diseases and pests of Xiaotian are gray mold and true mildew. They can be effectively prevented by placing it in a well-ventilated place indoors and cleaning up the dry branches and leaves in time.
