How to grow Luna Lotus

How to grow Luna Lotus

1. Soil

When it comes to potting soil, Luna prefers loose and breathable soil. Therefore, we can choose to use peat with granular pumice, mix peat and pumice in a ratio of approximately 1:1, and put them into the flowerpot to enhance the air permeability of the soil. Finally, we have to put clean pumice on the surface to separate the plants from the soil.

2. Watering

You can water more in spring and autumn. However, since succulent plants are accustomed to dormancy in summer and winter, the growth of plants is slow in summer and winter. At this time, you only need to water the roots moderately. Do not use spray watering, and do not water too much, otherwise it will cause leaf rot and bacterial growth. But in summer when the temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius, water supply must be cut off. Of course, in winter when the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius, in order to prevent it from being frozen, the water supply must be cut off. If the leaves are not in contact with water for a long time, a layer of white powder will appear, which is a normal phenomenon.

3. Temperature

Luna lily prefers a dry and cool growing space. Luna Lotus can show the best growth state within 0~30℃, so the temperature should be kept within the appropriate range. In the hot summer, we need to lower the temperature and place the plants in a place with good air circulation, suitable temperature and no strong sunlight. The temperature difference between day and night is large in spring and autumn, so the plants can be placed outdoors. At this time, the Luna lilies are brightly colored and are the most beautiful.

4. Lighting

The light-loving Luna lily can be allowed to "sunbathe" all day long in spring, autumn and winter. In spring and autumn, ventilation should also be ensured while providing sunshine. It can be grown indoors during the winter. In the hot summer, be careful not to overexpose it to the sun. You can reduce the light exposure appropriately and move it indoors at noon when the sun is strongest. Of course, you can also build a small "pergola" for it to prevent it from being burned by the sun.
