What soil to use for ash wood

What soil to use for ash wood

1. Soil quality requirements

1. Breathable: It is very drought-resistant and cannot withstand humid environments. The roots can hardly bear waterlogging, so the soil must first be breathable and not too sticky. If too sticky or compacted soil is used, the entire growth will be affected and become weak. In the breeding process, sandy materials are the most suitable.

2. Drainage: It also needs to be able to drain water so that water does not accumulate inside. If too much water is applied, it can flow out, reducing the possibility of root rot. Coarse sand can be added to ensure this.

3. Nutrition: Nutrition is essential for growth. Ensuring nutritious soil can lay a good foundation for plant growth and provide sufficient nutrition. The frequency of fertilization can be reduced, and maintenance and management will be much easier.

2. Soil preparation method

You can mix garden soil, leaf mold and coarse sand in a ratio of 1:1:2. The prepared soil is more suitable. You also need to add a little bone meal and wood ash as appropriate to ensure sufficient nutrition for the base fertilizer. Among them, garden soil and peat soil mainly ensure nutrition, coarse sand can increase drainage and air permeability, bone meal and wood ash can provide nutrition. This preparation is very beneficial for growth.
