Cultivation methods and precautions of Coreopsis

Cultivation methods and precautions of Coreopsis

Soil requirements

Breathable and loose humus soil.

Water requirements

Coreopsis is very easy to grow too tall, so watering must be controlled. Water it sufficiently after planting and water it daily when the soil is completely dry. Stop watering only when water flows out of the drainage holes in the flowerpot. If the soil is semi-dry and semi-wet for a long time, it will seriously affect the growth of plants.

Sunlight needs

An overly dark environment can also cause it to grow too tall, so it must be grown in a sunny environment. If it is grown indoors, it must be guaranteed to have several hours of sunlight every day, so that it can bloom brightly colored, vibrant flowers during the flowering period.

Nutrient requirements

It is necessary to apply base fertilizer once before planting, and then apply fertilizer again after the flower buds appear. Except for these two times of fertilization, if the soil nutrients are sufficient, no fertilizer is required on a daily basis. It does not require a lot of fertilizer.

Proper pruning

It is prone to excessive growth, so it needs to be pruned from time to time; when the plant grows to 6 cm in height, it should be topped off, and when the plant grows to 10 cm in height, it should be topped off again.

Weed cleaning

During the seedling period, weeds in the pot should be removed from time to time. In daily maintenance, they can be removed when watering to reduce the waste of nutrients and water.
