How to choose avocado

How to choose avocado

1. Look at the color

The taste of avocado is determined by the oil content in it. Generally, fully ripe avocados taste particularly good. So avocados are similar to persimmons. The longer they are stored, the better they taste. Generally, the black ones are the most delicious because they are fully ripe. Although it doesn’t look good, it tastes delicious, so don’t pick the green ones, as they will taste astringent.

2. Feel the feel

Generally, the more delicious avocados are those that are darker in color, but some avocados that are overripe or even rotten are also this color, so you must be careful not to pick the bad ones at this time, as rotten avocados cannot be eaten. At this time, we can't just look at the color, we also have to feel the texture. If it is too hard, it usually doesn't taste good raw, so we have to keep it at home for a while. Also, if the avocado is too soft, it may be a bad avocado, so don't buy it. Generally, when buying it, choose those avocados that are just the right hardness and softness. They will be fine after a few days and will taste especially good.

3. Touch its rough surface

Avocado is relatively rough, with many small bumps and pits on its surface. Although it looks ugly, it tastes the best this way. If the surface is relatively smooth and flat, it means that the avocado may have been diseased before, so it cannot be eaten.

4. Break off the fruit stem and see

When choosing, we can also check whether it is good from its fruit stalk. If the color of the junction between the stalk and the fruit is dark brown, it means that the avocado has gone bad, or it is too ripe and no longer fresh, so it cannot be eaten.

5. Do not buy items with wounds on the outside

When choosing, check whether there are any wounds on the outer surface of the avocado. If there are some scratches or the fruit is picked too hard, exposing its flesh, do not buy it because it may have gone bad and cannot be kept or eaten.
