How to reproduce Rhinoceros horn

How to reproduce Rhinoceros horn

Reproduction method

Division

If you want to do it in spring, you will be much more successful if you combine division with repotting. Generally, overcrowded plants are selected for separation. After separation from the mother plant, they are dried in the sun for 1 to 2 days before planting. If the root system is relatively intact, they can be planted directly without drying. If there are no roots at all, they must be inserted into moist sand first. When the temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees, new roots will grow in about 10 to 15 days, and then they can be planted.

Cuttings

Cuttings can be done at any time. Select thicker leaf stems, cut them off, and dry them in the sun for 1 to 2 days to allow the wounds to dry completely before inserting them into the soil. At this time, the soil must be kept moist and the temperature should be controlled between 25 and 28 degrees. New roots will grow in about half a month. If it is winter, you can cover it with plastic film. Open the film at noon to let in air and sprinkle some water.

sowing

The best time for sowing is mid-April, when the temperature needs to be between 25 and 28 degrees. Plant the seeds directly in the pot. They will germinate in about 5 to 6 days. When the sprouts grow to 2 to 3 cm high, they can be transplanted. Be careful not to damage the roots of the sprouts during transplanting.

Precautions

Reproduction is only a small step in the maintenance process, and the maintenance after completion is also very important. As long as friends operate carefully and pay attention to them frequently, they will definitely gain something.
