The difference between woodruff and rose

The difference between woodruff and rose

1. Basic characteristics

1. Woodruff flower. The osmanthus flower can grow up to 6 meters high. The small branches are cylindrical with short prickles on them. The old branches have larger prickles on them. Its leaves are oval, 2 cm to 5 cm long and 8 cm to 18 cm wide. The color of the leaves is dark green in the upper part and light green in the lower part. The flowers of the osmanthus flower are relatively small, with a diameter of 1.5 cm to 2.5 cm. The length of the pedicel is 2 cm to 3 cm. The flowering time is April to May.

2. Rose. Rose flowers are much shorter than osmanthus flowers, with a height of between 1 and 2 meters. The branches are relatively thin and have thorns on them. The leaves are 1.53 cm long and 0.8 to 2 cm wide. The flowers are white with a diameter of 2 to 3 cm. The fruit is dark red. The flowering period is from May to July, and the fruiting period is October.

2. Growth habits

1. Woodruff flower. The osmanthus plant prefers sufficient sunlight or a semi-shaded environment. It is relatively cold-resistant and its requirements for soil are not very strict. It can grow normally even in heavy clay soil, but it grows best in well-drained, fertile and moist soil. In most cases, the osmanthus plant can spend the winter outdoors, even in the winter in northern regions!

2. Rose. Roses have stronger survival abilities and are more cold-resistant than osmanthus flowers. They have almost no requirements for soil and can grow in both heavy clay soil and poor soil, but there cannot be too much water. Roses grow best in fertile acidic soil. Roses love sunlight. If they don't get enough light, they won't be able to grow normally. In serious cases, the whole plant will die.

3. Origin Distribution

1. Woodruff flower. The woodruff flower is native to Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in my country, and is commonly seen along rivers, roads and hillsides. Now, costusroot flowers are cultivated in various parts of our country.

2. Rose. Roses are native to North China, Central China and other regions. There are many varieties and they are commonly seen in home gardens.
