What should you pay attention to when climbing roses bloom?

Variety selection

Climbing roses actually bloom quite profusely. They generally bloom for three seasons, but there are also climbing roses that bloom for only one season. First of all, in order to make the blooming of climbing roses meet the needs of viewers, you need to choose the right variety when purchasing. If you want to watch it for a single season, buy a single-season variety. If you want to watch it for three seasons, buy a three-season variety. However, most of the climbing roses on the market are three-season varieties.

Reasons for non-continuation of flowering

Spring is the main flowering period of climbing roses. At this time, the climbing roses bloom more concentratedly. Because these are the first flowers, the amount of flowering will be larger, so it has consumed a lot of nutrients. Therefore, after this batch of flowers bloom, there will be a period of time before the next flowering period of the climbing rose, which makes it seem that the flowering of the climbing rose cannot continue, because it blooms not frequently or not at all.

If you want climbing roses to bloom continuously, you can pick the buds when they begin to appear in early or mid-April every year. When picking the buds, you can pick every other branch from top to bottom, which is called starting. Then apply nitrogen fertilizer and water thoroughly to encourage the branches with removed flower buds to sprout earlier and form flower buds again. In this way, at this time, the following phenomenon will occur on the climbing rose plant: one part is about to bloom while the other part is still growing.

After the first batch of flowers of climbing roses fade, immediately cut off the remaining flowers, apply nitrogen fertilizer and water again. At the same time, the previously cut branches are ready to bloom, and new branches are growing. This creates the surprise that the climbing rose always has flowers blooming, making it appear that the flowers are blooming continuously.
