The difference between jiexiang and daphne

The difference between jiexiang and daphne

One of the differences between Jiexiang and Daphne

Both Daphne odora and Osmanthus fragrans are shrubs with relatively soft branches, but the branches of Osmanthus fragrans are softer, and single or double branches can be tied into knots without breaking, so it is also called knotted flower. In addition, the new branches of Daphne koreana grow slowly, while the new branches of Rhizoma Cineraria grow faster.

The second difference between Jiexiang and Daphne

The young branches of Daphne odora are lavender, and the leaves are evergreen, which come in two types: all green and with gold edges. When the flowers bloom, they are set off by green leaves. After the flowers fade, the old leaves gradually turn yellow and fall off, and new branches and leaves grow.

The young branches of the tree are light brown-red. After the Frost Descent, the leaves gradually turn yellow and fall off, while the flower buds develop and grow stronger. There are no green leaves when the flowers bloom, and the leaves grow again after the flowers fade. It is generally impossible to see flowers and leaves appear at the same time.

The third difference between Jiexiang and Daphne

The flower buds of both Osmanthus fragrans and Daphne koreana are green at first, and their colors change as they grow. The jasmine has a drooping head inflorescence, which is yellow when first blooming and turns white when about to fade. Therefore, the outer layer of an inflorescence that blooms first is white, and the inner layer that blooms later is yellow. Daphne has a capitula inflorescence with upright buds. The buds of Daphne with green leaves are white, while the buds of Daphne with golden edges are purple-red.
