Qin Lianqiao

Qinlianqiao is produced in southeastern Gansu, Shaanxi, western Henan, and northeastern Sichuan.

Qinqiao is a deciduous shrub, 1-3 meters high, with upright, cylindrical, gray-brown or gray branches, sparsely round lenticels, and membranous peeling on the outside. The twigs are slightly quadrangular, brown or light brown, glabrous, often sickle-shaped, and have flaky pith.

It grows in forests on hillsides or low hillsides, in thickets or sparse woods in valleys, in ravines, riverbanks or forest edges, or in crevices in ravine rocks, at an altitude of 800 to 3,200 meters.

Lijiang Forsythia

Lijiang Forsythia is produced in northwestern Yunnan and Muli, Sichuan. It grows in hillside thickets, under forests, or in mixed forests in mountains.

Lijiang Forsythia is extremely similar to Qin Forsythia, the only difference is that the latter has leaves that are entire and glabrous on both sides, while the other leaves also have hairy and sparsely serrated leaves. Other characteristics are basically the same.

Forsythia suspensa

Forsythia suspensa is a deciduous shrub of the genus Forsythia in the family Oleaceae. It is native to the Fenghuang Mountain area of ​​Liaoning Province, China and is cultivated in the three northeastern provinces.

The flowers are yellow and bloom before the leaves. Just after the cold winter, the whole tree is golden. If planted in patches, it will be more bright and eye-catching. The flowering period is May and the fruiting period is September. It is one of the excellent early spring flowering shrubs in Northeast China. The stems, leaves, fruits and roots can all be used as medicine.

Forsythia mirabilis

Forsythia suspensa originates from Shanyang, Shaanxi Province, and grows on the roadsides in the mountains.

Forsythia suspensa is a deciduous or climbing shrub, 1.2-3 meters high, with cylindrical, brown, glabrous branches, densely covered with castor-like raised lenticels, twigs light brown, quadrangular, pubescent, and hollow internodes.

The characteristics of Forsythia suspensa are between Forsythia suspensa and Qin Forsythia. The difference between Forsythia suspensa and Forsythia suspensa is that the leaves of Forsythia suspensa are entire and have hair on both sides. The difference between Forsythia suspensa and Qin Forsythia is that the internodes of the branches of Forsythia suspensa are hollow and the fruit stalks are 1.2-2 cm long.

Hypericum ovalifolium

Forsythia ovalifolia is native to Korea and is cultivated in Northeast China.

Forsythia ovata is 1-1.5 meters high, with spreading branches. The twigs are gray-yellow or light yellow-brown, glabrous, gray or dark gray when old, slightly angular, and with flaky pith.
