How to deal with edible lilies after they bloom

Treatment of edible lily after flowering

1. Pruning

Edible lilies need to be pruned in time after flowering, and all the remaining flowers, dead branches, and excess side branches on the plant should be cut off. The best time for pruning is in the evening or early morning so as not to affect the normal growth of the plant.

2. Reduce watering

Edible lilies are very fragile after flowering, so don't rush to water them after pruning, because the plants will enter a dormant period and cannot absorb water, which can easily cause waterlogging and root rot, affecting the normal growth of the plants.

How to grow edible lilies

Edible lilies only bloom once a year, from April to July, and the flowering period can last about three months. The flowers come in a variety of colors, including white, pink, yellow, black, and red.

1. Moisture

If you want edible lilies to bloom on time, water is very important. Lilies themselves are relatively drought-resistant, and you can water the plants about every 3 days during the flowering period.

2. Temperature

Edible lilies prefer a warm growing environment and have relatively high temperature requirements. The most suitable temperature is 15-25℃. If it is in summer, the temperature cannot exceed 30℃.

3. Lighting

Edible lilies need sufficient light during their growth period. At this time, the plants can be placed in a south-facing place with good light. If they survive in a dark environment for a long time, the flowers will find it difficult to bloom.
