How to breed jade butterflies

How to breed jade butterflies

The main method of propagation of Jade Butterfly is cuttings, including leaf cuttings and branch cuttings. As for seed propagation, it is difficult to cultivate at home, so it is recommended to purchase seedlings directly!

Leaf cuttings:

When using Jade Butterfly leaf cuttings, choose thick leaves, preferably the middle part. Clean the leaves, disinfect them and then insert them directly into the soil, but the growth time will be slower and the survival rate will be lower. It is still recommended to use branch cuttings!

Branch cuttings:

Jade butterflies like to grow in groups, and many plants can grow in one pot, so they can be propagated directly by cutting off the heads.

Many small heads will grow under the mature Jade Butterfly plant. Water it a little a few days before preparing for cuttings and directly break off the small heads. Be careful to be decisive when breaking it open to reduce the area of the wound.

Place the broken off small heads in a cool and ventilated place to dry for a day, and then you can plant them directly! When planting, it should not be too deep, 1 to 2 cm is enough.

After planting in the pot, do not water it for a month, and then water it after the roots grow. Move the small pot to a ventilated and bright place to avoid excessive light. Too strong or too dark light will reduce the survival rate. After the seedlings grow out, just increase the light!
