Things to note when planting spider plants

Be careful when applying fertilizer

Chlorophytum does not require too much fertilizer to grow. Once too much fertilizer is applied, it will exceed the amount of fertilizer required by the plant. At first, the leaves gradually lose their luster, then the roots gradually rot and the leaves turn yellow. At this time, you must stop fertilizing, fill the pot with clean water, or directly turn the pot over, take out the roots, wash them, and replace the soil.

Change the soil frequently

The nutrients needed by spider plants are mainly obtained from the potting soil. When you don't turn the soil or change the pot for a long time, the nutrients in the soil are depleted and not replenished in time. If the plant lacks nutrients, the leaves will become thinner. At this time, you should change the pot and soil in time and water it with fertilizer.

Plenty of sunlight

Chlorophytum is a semi-shade flower, but it does not mean that it does not need sunlight. You should see at least four hours of scattered light every day and avoid direct sunlight.

Loosen the soil in time

The drainage and air permeability of flowers in most households are relatively poor, so the soil should be loosened in time. If the air permeability of the potting soil is poor and water accumulates in the potting soil for a long time, the roots will have difficulty breathing and the leaves will turn yellow.

Water regularly

If you don’t have time to take care of it, set a time for yourself to check on the spider plant once a week and water it. Once the roots are deprived of water, the plant will gradually turn yellow from the bottom.
