1. What is it called?

The fruit of the horse chestnut tree is called horse chestnut. Also known as Suluozi and Lingluozi, it is the seed of Horse Chestnut, and its maturity period is from September to October. The shape is nearly spherical, with a flat or slightly pointed top, and the surface is densely covered with yellow-brown spots. The fruit shell is very thin, only 1.5-2 mm thick when dry, and often splits into three parts when ripe. There is one seed, or rarely two well-grown seeds, which are spherical in shape. Most of them are cultivated and few are wild. They are mainly distributed in Shaanxi, Gansu, Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other places.

It has a good effect on relieving chest and abdominal distension, menstrual abdominal pain and other symptoms.

2. Edible value: The fruit is edible, shaped like a chestnut, and tastes bitter at first but sweet later. You can rinse it with alkaline water before eating to remove the astringency. It should be noted that the fruit is somewhat toxic and can only be eaten after being steamed at high temperature.

3. Economic value: The fruit of horse chestnut contains fatty oil, starch, fiber, crude protein, and can be used to extract starch and press oil.
