How to peel and eat mangosteen

How to peel and eat mangosteen

1. Peel by hand

1. Before eating mangosteen, you need to remove the outer skin. It is more convenient to remove it directly with your hands, especially for relatively ripe fruits. First pull out the stalk of the mangosteen, then the white flesh will be exposed on the top.

2. After pulling out the upper handle, you need to squeeze the middle part directly with your hands. Gently apply force to create a gap in the middle of the mangosteen. It will be convenient after the gap appears. You can break the mangosteen open and see the flesh inside. After separating it from the skin, you can eat it. It is convenient and simple to operate, but it is not very beautiful and may get your hands dirty.

2. With the help of a knife

1. Prepare a clean and sharp knife. First remove the petiole on the outside of the mangosteen. You can make a few cuts around the petiole and gently pull out the petiole. After removing the petiole, you can see the flesh inside.

2. Use a fruit knife to cut a circle along the skin. Do not cut too deep. After cutting, carefully break it open with your hands.

3. After the shell is opened, the white flesh inside will be revealed. Use a knife to gently pry open the gap between the flesh and the shell, and you can easily take out the flesh inside.
