How to eat the core of jackfruit

How to eat the core of jackfruit

1. Cook porridge

Jackfruit seeds are not so easy to soften, so when cooking porridge, you should put them in with rice. Cooking it longer will make it taste better.

Wash the rice and pour it into the pot. Wash the jackfruit, peel off the yellow skin on the surface, put it into the rice, pour in clean water, the water should cover the ingredients by about three centimeters, and simmer over high heat until the rice is cooked and has a soft and glutinous texture. Just like cooking porridge at other times, add more water if you like it thinner.

2. Boil in water

Just like cooking porridge, wash the jackfruit, remove the yellow skin on the surface and set aside. Put half a pot of water in the pot and pour in the jackfruit. If you like sweets, you can add sugar for seasoning. Cook over high heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Peel and eat when cooked.

The cooked jackfruit core is soft and sticky, somewhat like a chestnut.

3. Stir-fry

After the jackfruit is cooked using the above method, pour out the water in the pot and add the jackfruit core and stir-fry. The specific time depends on the heat and size. The skin on the surface of the jackfruit core will crack. Test it with chopsticks. When it becomes soft, you can remove it from the pot. Peel off the outer shell when eating.

4. Make soup

After putting other ingredients into the pot, add the peeled jackfruit core and pour water. The jackfruit core cooked in this way is delicious, soft and sticky, and also very tasty.
