Records of the use of Herba Corydalis in medicine

The use of Cuiyuncao as medicine was first recorded in Baicaojing

"Qunfang Pu" says: "It likes shade, its color is green and lovely, its leaves are thin and soft, its stems are thick and broken, just like green hairpins. Its roots grow when they meet soil, but wither when they meet the sun. It is best planted under tiger thorn, banana and begonia."

The "Supplement to Gangmu" says: "The grass has a single stem with petals, and clusters of fine leaves with green spots on them."

The Illustrated Catalogue of Plant Names and Realities also says: "The green cloud grass grows among rocks, with green stems and small leaves, and is verdant and lovely. The Collection of Flowers records that people grow it on rocks and in shady wet places for fun. Local doctors in Jiangxi call it dragon's beard, and southern Yunnan calls it sword cypress, and both say it can relax muscles and activate joints."

The importance of using the green cloud grass by ethnic minorities

According to the "Guizhou Medicine Compilation", the Yi people often use Cuiyuncao to treat diseases. "The whole herb of Cuiyuncao can treat hot flashes, restlessness, cough and hemoptysis, damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder, intestinal carbuncle, dysentery, retained placenta, hemorrhoids, fistula and anal fissure. It can be boiled in water for sitting bath and fumigation."

Miao medicine: Xiao: The whole plant is used to treat cough, tuberculosis, whooping cough, gastric bleeding, stomach pain, rheumatic bone pain, eczema, bamboo and wood thorns that cannot be protruded from the flesh, traumatic bleeding, snake bites, and fractures. Rui Rong: The whole herb is used by the people to treat icteric hepatitis, enteritis, dysentery, nephritic edema, hemoptysis due to tuberculosis, and rheumatoid arthritis; it is also used externally to treat carbuncle, burns, bruises, and traumatic bleeding.

In the context of modern medicine, everyone must follow the doctor's orders when taking medication, consult more professionals, and not use it blindly. Even though Green Cloud Grass can be used to make a decoction, it should not be consumed lightly. Medicinal herbs are also food ingredients, but they also have risks. The human body adapts differently to various drugs, so everyone should pay attention.
