What should I do if the Clivia flower is stuck in the middle and can't grow out? How to deal with the stuck arrow

The flower of Clivia is stuck between the leaves and cannot come out and grow upwards. This phenomenon is called arrow pinching.

1. What to do if the Clivia is pinched by an arrow

Shading treatment: Move the Clivia to a place without sunlight, or cover it with something opaque. In this way, the arrow-jamming situation will be improved after a few days.

Watering with beer: Mix low-proof beer or liquor with warm water in a ratio of 1:50 to dilute the alcohol, and then water it on the roots of the Clivia. After waiting for about a week, you can draw the arrow.

Soak in warm water: Choose a sunny day, pour warm water of about 40 degrees into a basin, and then put the Clivia potted plant in it. When the outer wall of the flowerpot feels a little warm, you can move it out.

Tie up the leaves: Use a rope to tie up the leaves on both sides of the Clivia, leaving the flower buds exposed. Be careful not to damage the leaves when tying. After tying it up, place it in a place with scattered light for maintenance.

Increase the temperature difference: The temperature suitable for Clivia growth is around 20 degrees Celsius. If the temperature difference between morning and evening is small in the environment where it is raised, it will experience arrow pinching. If this is the reason, the temperature needs to be adjusted artificially, such as using an air-conditioned room. Generally the temperature should be 25 degrees Celsius during the day and 15 degrees Celsius at night.

2. Precautions for maintenance after Clivia is clipped

If the Clivia has arrow pinching, it means that there may be some problems with the previous maintenance method, and it is necessary to find the problem and make timely adjustments.

It is necessary to add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to supplement the nutrients needed for its flowering period. In addition, you need to replace half of the soil with new soil after the flowers fade. Do not water within five days after changing the soil to allow it to fully adapt to the pot.
