Cultivation methods and precautions of hydroponic lucky bamboo

Cultivation methods and precautions of hydroponic lucky bamboo

1. Vase Insertion

A good vase can not only make the cultivation work more convenient, but also make the cultivated bamboo more beautiful.

It is best to choose a light-transmitting glass bottle rather than some opaque porcelain bottles. This will make it easier for us to observe the situation in the bottle and will not reduce its ornamental value.

2. Temperature

It is best to adjust the room temperature to between 16℃-26℃ to ensure its healthy growth.

When the temperature is lower in winter, you need to put it indoors or take certain anti-cold measures. Otherwise, the water in the vase is likely to freeze and damage its roots.

3. Lighting

We need to provide it with a certain amount of light to ensure its healthy growth. If there is insufficient light, it may turn yellow and shrink, greatly reducing its ornamental value.

Because it does not need a lot of sunlight, just put it in a place that is not too dark and can be well ventilated.

4. Water Use

There are two options for hydroponic water of lucky bamboo: one is purified water, the other is tap water.

Purified water is pure water that is not mixed with any substances. Using it to grow bamboo can ensure that the bamboo will not be attacked by pathogens in the water. But there is a certain cost to using this kind of water for farming.

Tap water needs to be prepared one day in advance and left for one day before it can be used. This is because water plants use some disinfecting gases when providing tap water, and these gases are slightly soluble in water. Leaving tap water alone for a day can basically ensure that these gases have evaporated and will not cause any harm to the bamboo roots.

5. Flower Fertilizer

Hydroponics also requires fertilization. Certain fertilizers can provide the nutrients needed for the growth of lucky bamboo and support its normal growth and development.

The frequency of fertilization does not need to be too high, once a month is enough. You can choose water-soluble fertilizer for flowers, or use nutrient solution instead. In addition, we can also add a few staples or an iron nail into the bottle to provide it with iron elements to help it grow better and faster.
