How to grow mint hydroponically

How to grow mint hydroponically

1. Cut suitable hydroponic branches

If we want to grow hydroponics, we need to prepare the branches. Generally, we cut a few thick and disease-free branches, then wash them with clean water, and then put them into the hydroponic container.

2. How to hydroponically cultivate

We insert the cut branches into the prepared container, and then gradually add water into the container. The water level should be at least enough to submerge one branch after removing the leaves. After that, you can place it in a bright place for maintenance. Remember not to expose it to direct sunlight during this period, and the water used should preferably be tap water that has been stored for 2 days.

3. Maintenance during hydroponics

1. Maintenance within one week

Within the first week of hydroponics, its leaves may wilt. Don't worry too much. You can temporarily move it to a relatively cool and ventilated place, and then spray some water mist on the surface of the leaves. Basically, this phenomenon will disappear after two days. After 2 to 3 days, many white roots will grow on the branches, which means that the hydroponics is successful.

2. Give nutrient solution in time during hydroponics

Some people feel that they are already alive and there is no need to care about them anymore. This is wrong. We also need to add some nutrient solution to it appropriately to ensure it has what it needs for growth.

3. Change water in time

If you find that the leaves near the bottom of the plant fall off easily during hydroponics, then we need to deal with them in time, clean up the fallen leaves, and change the water in time to prevent the water quality from deteriorating. Usually during the peak growth period, you need to change the water every two days or so to protect its roots from damage.

4. Timely pruning

If its branches continue to grow taller during hydroponics, we need to prune it appropriately and also top it several times. This will allow the side buds to sprout faster and you can also create your favorite shape.
