Selecting materialsThis is the first and crucial step. If you don’t choose it well, you will definitely not be able to produce good work. It is best to choose those purple bamboos that are strong and beautiful in shape. Those sickly plants are definitely not acceptable. DwarfingThere are three main methods for this step, which are introduced below one by one. The first is reproductive dwarfing. The specific method is: bury the bamboo rhizomes of the plant in the soil, then cover it with about five to ten centimeters of soil, and then pay attention to controlling the humidity. By doing this, the bamboo will be much shorter than normal when it grows up, and it will look very elegant and soft, with a graceful temperament. The second type is dwarfing of the plant. We may have observed such a phenomenon that when we peel off its outer layer, its internodes become shorter accordingly. This method also follows these steps, and it can be carried out when the plant grows to about twenty centimeters. As the internodes become shorter, the plant as a whole becomes shorter. The third is the use of medicine. We can choose to suppress it by spraying during the vigorous growth period of the plant, or we can do it by injection, and the effect is quite good. Transplantation and managementAfter the previous step, you can transplant it, but this time don't put it directly into the pot, but in an outdoor environment close to the pot. Next, we can prune the plants to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients by too many branches and leaves, and also make our bonsai look better. Then it is time to transplant it into the pot. We should choose a pot with good drainage performance, and the best time is late spring. After transplanting, it’s time to manage the plants. They must not lack light or water, and some manure or cake fertilizer must be applied. |
