What should I do if the leaves of Strelitzia reginae crack?

What should I do if the leaves of Strelitzia reginae crack?

1. The wind is too strong

Reason: Strelitzia reginae cannot withstand strong winds. If the wind is too strong, it will cause the leaves to crack along the gaps, affecting the ornamental value.

Solution: Strelitzia reginae does not like to grow in a windy environment. It only needs proper ventilation to keep the air flowing. It should not be exposed to strong winds.

2. Replace the soil

Reason: The roots of Strelitzia reginae are relatively sensitive and are not suitable for growing in soil with poor air permeability. If the soil is not permeable, it will cause root rot and the leaves will crack.

Solution: Be prepared to change pots and soil. If the soil is sticky and compacted, be sure to replace the soil in time with loose, breathable sandy soil.

3. Increase the temperature

Reason: Strelitzia does not like low temperature environment. When the temperature in the growing environment is very low, the branches and leaves will turn yellow and crack, affecting its normal aesthetics.

Solution: The temperature should be controlled at around 12-25 degrees Celsius. The winter temperature should be kept above 10 degrees Celsius and the minimum should be above 5 degrees Celsius.

4. Spray water to moisturize

Reason: When Strelitzia is grown indoors, the air will be relatively dry, resulting in poor growth of branches and leaves, causing the leaves to turn yellow and crack.

Solution: When maintaining the plant, open windows for ventilation and spray water on the leaves when the air is dry.
