The reason why the old pile of succulents does not sprout after being cut off

The reason why the old pile of succulents does not sprout after being cut off

1. Wrong time

If the time of pruning is not chosen correctly or the climatic conditions are not suitable, the old succulent plants will not grow well after pruning. If you want it to germinate as quickly as possible, you must choose the right time. You can choose the growing season in spring when the climate is very suitable, the germination ability is strong, the growth rate is fast, and it is also conducive to germination.

2. Improper moisture

After beheading an old succulent plant, applying a large amount of water will not be conducive to germination but will hinder its growth. Succulents are relatively drought-resistant. Now that the leaves have been cut off, the water requirement has obviously decreased. There is no need to water too much, just keep the soil dry.

3. Position at the bottom

When beheading, if the cutting position is too low, too close to the root, the growth point will be lost and the chance of germination will be greatly reduced. The amount of pruning should be determined according to the height of the plant. It should not be too close to the roots, but should be moved upwards to retain the growth point to facilitate germination.

4. Uncomfortable light

After beheading, if placed in strong sunlight, exposure to excessive sunlight will also make it difficult to germinate. Within 1 to 3 days of beheading, the plant should be kept away from sunlight and placed in a cool place. Later on, it should be exposed to diffuse light but not exposed to direct sunlight.
