The reason why white spots appear on camellia leaves during flowering period

The reason why white spots appear on camellia leaves during flowering period

1. Infection with powdery mildew

Reason: If you find white spots on the leaves of camellia during its flowering period, it may be due to infection with powdery mildew. At first, small white spots will appear on the leaves, which will gradually expand and stick together. There will also be white hyphae, which will have a great impact on the growth and development of camellia.

Solution: After discovering the disease, remove the leaves with white spots in time to prevent the spread of the disease. If the condition is serious, spray treatment is needed.

2. Infection with scale insects

Reason: If the growing environment is not suitable, it may also be infected by scale insects. They gather on the back of the leaves, sucking nutrients from the leaves and causing some white spots to appear.

Solution: When you first notice the infestation, wipe it gently with alcohol. If there are a large number of infestations, you can choose to spray them with regular insecticide.

3. Infection with Rust Ticks

Reason: Rust mites are common pests during the flowering period. They mainly harm young leaves, absorb the juice inside, and cause small spots to appear on the back of the affected leaves, which then expand into white cracks.

Solution: When the disease first occurs, you can mix laundry detergent with water to make a solution and spray it. In the later stage, you can spray it with acetamiprid water, emamectin benzoate emulsifiable concentrate and other pesticides.
