What to do if the leaves of Christmas cactus droop

What to do if the leaves of Christmas cactus droop

1. Root rot

(1) Reason: We can first observe the place where its roots intersect with the soil. If it becomes soft and yellow, it may have root rot. If the roots are rotten, the leaves may wilt and droop.

(2) Solution: If the roots are rotten, cut off the rotten part of the plant. Then, sterilize it and re-transplant it. If it is not rotten, you can water it less appropriately. When you notice that the soil is dry, water it a little; if it is not dry, don't water it yet. At the same time, increase the lighting.

2. Too much light

(1) Reason: This plant is a short-day plant. That is to say, it likes semi-shaded environment and scattered light. Therefore, if the leaves are exposed to strong light or too long, they may become soft and droop.

(2) Solution: Get adequate light exposure every day. Normally, we can place it in places with scattered light such as balconies. If it is strong light at noon, be sure to provide it with shade. In addition, maintain good ventilation. In addition, we can spray some water on its stem surface, which can also effectively avoid this phenomenon.

3. Dormant period

(1) Reason: Sometimes, this is a normal phenomenon. For example, after flowering or in summer, it will go dormant. At this time, its growth rate is very slow, so it is very normal for the leaves to wilt.

(2) Maintenance: Control the amount of watering and water only when the surface soil is dry. No fertilization is required.
