Paulownia cultivation methods and precautions

Paulownia cultivation method

Light and temperature

Paulownia likes an environment with plenty of sunlight and is relatively shade-tolerant. Paulownia has strong drought resistance. When cultivating Paulownia, just keep the temperature between -25 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius. If the temperature drops below minus 25 degrees Celsius, it will suffer frost damage.

soil

Paulownia has high requirements for soil. It is mainly reflected in soil fertility, soil thickness and looseness. If the soil is too sticky or too waterlogged, the Paulownia will grow poorly. Soil that is too dry will also cause Paulownia to grow poorly.

Paulownia cultivation precautions

Pests and diseases

The main pests of Paulownia are the giant bag moth and the scarab beetle, while the diseases include anthracnose and black bean disease. The main harm caused by scarab beetles to Paulownia is that the larvae will bite the seedlings in early spring. The main method of prevention and control is to kill them manually or release poultry to eat them. Paulownia is most susceptible to damage by the giant bag moth, which can be controlled by using 3000-3200 times dichlorvos solution. To prevent and control anthracnose and black bean disease, mix copper sulfate and ammonium bicarbonate in a ratio of 1:10. After sealing for 24 hours, prepare a 200-fold solution and spray it on the seedlings, which is more effective.

Reproduction method

The main propagation methods of Paulownia include root cuttings, sowing, and leaving roots.

Flowering and fruiting period

The flowering period of Paulownia is from March to April, and the fruiting period is from September to October.
