Common diseases and pests of lavender, lavender grows red spider

1. Leaf spot

Leaf spot is one of the common diseases of lavender, which mainly harms the leaves of the plant. For seedlings, they will wilt and lose water after becoming infected, the leaves will become dull in color, and the branches will become bent. If the plant is over three years old, the disease will spread from the inside out, eventually leading to its death. If you want to treat it, you can spray Bordeaux mixture or mancozeb solution, usually 2-3 times is enough.

2. Root rot

Root rot is mainly caused by overwatering and too wet soil. A humid environment can easily breed bacteria, which can invade the roots of plants and cause them to rot. If the situation is not too serious, you can use carbendazim or methyl thiophanate solution for prevention and control, which can be used for root irrigation or foliar spraying. If the situation is serious, you need to remove it from the pot, trim the roots, and then replace it with new soil and replant it.

3. Red spider

Spider mites are common pests that can cause damage to many plants. It has strong reproductive capacity and develops quickly, so prevention and control work must be done well. You can use avermectin solution to spray or trichloronate to kill insects. In addition, timely repotting and soil changes can also kill insect eggs to prevent them from hatching in the second year and continuing to harm the plants.

4. Leafhopper

Both the larvae and adults of leafhoppers suck the sap of plants and can reproduce 4-5 generations a year, so it is difficult to completely eliminate them. It is necessary to spray drugs such as chlorpyrifos and carbofuran for prevention and control, and at the same time, pay attention to removing weeds to prevent them from living. By taking advantage of the phototaxis of adult insects, lights can also be used to lure and kill them.
