What is the cause of lotus root rot?

What is the cause of lotus root rot?

1. Fertilizer Harm

Reason: Fertilizing the lotus too frequently on a daily basis will cause fertilizer damage, resulting in root rot. Also, do not apply fertilizer with too high a concentration, as this will also cause root rot.

Solution: Control the amount of fertilizer and reduce the frequency of fertilization appropriately. The principle is to apply thin fertilizer frequently. It is enough to apply some thin liquid fertilizer daily.

2. Water accumulation

Reason: Waterlogging is the easiest way to cause root rot. If waterlogging occurs during normal watering, the roots of the lotus will easily rot.

Solution: Drain the accumulated water in the potting soil in time. Also, control the amount of watering, and try not to allow water to accumulate. Just keep the potting soil slightly moist, not too wet.

3. Pests and diseases

Reason: The occurrence of pests and diseases may harm the roots, and corroding the roots will cause root rot.

Solution: When pests and diseases are discovered, they must be removed in time. You can use pesticides to spray them for prevention and control. In addition, the lotus should be removed from the potting soil, the rotten parts should be removed and disinfected, and then replanted.

4. Poor water quality

Reason: If the water quality for watering is not good, it will easily breed bacteria. Coupled with the humid environment, the bacteria will multiply quickly and harm the roots, causing root rot.

Solution: Use clean water when watering, and avoid water that contains bacteria or has moss growing on it.
