Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of Jade Bell

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of Jade Bell

1. Temperature discomfort

Reason: Jade bell is a tropical plant, but it does not like hot and humid environment. Instead, it prefers cool and warm environment. Both high temperatures and cold weather will temporarily stop its growth. If the temperature is too high, the plant will lose too much water and the leaves will turn yellow. If the temperature is too low, below five degrees Celsius, it will be frozen and the leaves will gradually turn yellow.

Measures: If it is because the temperature is too high, you need to move it to a cool place with good ventilation for maintenance. If it is because the temperature is too low, below five degrees Celsius, it should be moved to a warmer place indoors for maintenance. The indoor temperature should be controlled at around eleven degrees Celsius to help it survive the winter safely.

2. Too much light

Reason: Jade bell is a short-day plant and is not suitable for long-term maintenance in an environment with sufficient light and long sunshine hours. Too much sunlight can burn its leaves and cause them to turn yellow.

Measures: The growth environment needs to be adjusted and moved to a cool place with little scattered light for maintenance. Even in winter when the sunlight is relatively weak, do not expose it to too much sunlight.

3. Too much water

Reason: As a tropical plant, the Jade Belladonna is a relatively cold-resistant plant and does not need to be watered frequently. Even during the growing season, you only need to water it once a week. However, if you water it from time to time during maintenance, the roots may be overloaded and the absorption of nutrients will become slow. Once water accumulates, the roots will rot severely and the leaves will turn yellow obviously.

Measures: Control watering and loosen the soil and drain water in time. When the leaves turn yellow severely, they need to be removed from the pot, the rotten roots trimmed, and then replanted.
