Causes and treatments for yellowing violet leaves

Causes and treatments for yellowing violet leaves

1. Poor air circulation

Reason: Violets prefer a cool growing environment. If the growing environment has poor air circulation or is hot and stuffy, the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Move the plant to its original location and place it in a well-ventilated and cool place for maintenance.

2. Lack of light

Reason: Although violets like to grow in relatively shady places, if they grow in dark places for a long time, the lack of photosynthesis in the leaves will cause the leaves to turn yellow. Moreover, during the flowering period of violets, lack of light will also affect their flowering.

Solution: If the yellow leaves are caused by lack of light, move it to a sunny place and ensure it receives light for 6 hours a day.

3. Excessive watering

Reason: If you water the violet too much, water will easily accumulate at the bottom of the pot, and the tender leaves will become dull and yellow.

Solution: First, place the plant in a ventilated place on the balcony to allow excess moisture to evaporate as quickly as possible and wait for the plant to recover. After the plant recovers, don't rush to water it. Wait until the soil is dry before watering it appropriately.

4. Too little fertilization

Reason: Violets have a high demand for nutrients during their growth period. If too little fertilizer is applied, violets cannot absorb sufficient nutrients, resulting in malnutrition and yellow leaves.

Solution: You need to increase the frequency and amount of fertilization. It is best to fertilize once every two weeks. Fertilize with diluted cake fertilizer or other liquid fertilizer to avoid damage to the plants caused by excessive fertilizer concentration.
