How to save the white hosta leaves from turning yellow

How to save the white hosta leaves from turning yellow

1. Change the soil

White hosta requires well-drained soil to grow. If the soil is not suitable, it will cause root rot and the leaves to turn yellow. To replace it with suitable soil, you can choose soil with a deep soil layer and good drainage. Sandy soil is a better choice.

2. Adjust the water content

During the cultivation process, if you water too much, the roots will rot and the leaves will become withered and yellow. It cannot tolerate drought. If there is a lack of water for a long time and the environment is too dry, its growth will be affected. If you water too much, you can loosen the soil in time to promote water drainage. If there is a lack of water and there is not enough water support, you need to add water in time to keep it moist, and you also need to spray water on the leaves to maintain humidity.

3. Block out strong light

It is a shade-loving plant and cannot withstand direct exposure to strong light. If exposed to strong light in summer, the leaves will grow poorly, turn yellow, and even the edges of the leaves will burn. For planting and maintenance, choose a shaded place, block strong light in time in summer, and keep the shade degree above 80%.

4. Reduce fertilization

White hosta does not require much fertilizer. If excessive fertilizer is added during maintenance, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow and fall off. You need to stop fertilizing and water to dilute the fertilizer effect.
