The reason why the leaves of gardenia turn yellow and the buds fall off

The reason why the leaves of gardenia turn yellow and the buds fall off

1. Too much water

This situation may occur in gardenias because too much water is given, causing the inside to be too humid, making it difficult for the roots to breathe and grow normally, which in turn causes the transport function above to be obstructed, resulting in the leaves turning yellow and drying up, and the flower buds falling off. In this case, you need to place the flower pot in a well-ventilated place to promote the evaporation of moisture and allow the plant to recover for a period of time.

2. Soil is too alkaline

It is a plant that likes acid. If the loam in the flowerpot is too alkaline, the leaves will naturally turn yellow, and the flower buds will not only fall off, but new flower buds will also be difficult to grow. In order to ensure an acidic environment, ferrous sulfate can be applied once every half a month, and it is best to keep the texture soft and loose.

3. Improper sunlight

Exposure to strong light can cause problems for the plants. Similarly, if there is a lack of light stimulation and they are kept in a dark and lightless environment for a long time, the plants will also experience this problem. It can provide supplementary sunlight and normal astigmatism.

4. Improper fertilization

If too much fertilizer is applied and it is too concentrated, the old leaves will turn yellow and fall off, and the flower buds will also fall off. If there is a lack of nutrients, the newly grown leaves will turn yellow and balanced nutrients need to be applied, adding them as appropriate based on the growth status.
