Why are the leaves of the fortune tree turning yellow?

Why are the leaves of the fortune tree turning yellow?

1. Reasons

1. Improper watering: If you water too much during maintenance, the soil in the pot will be moist and waterlogged, which will cause the roots to be unable to breathe and rot, and the leaves will turn yellow. On the contrary, if you water too much, the bottom layer of the soil will be dry, the roots will not absorb water, and the leaves will gradually turn yellow.

2. Improper lighting: If you place it in a cool place without light, its new leaves will grow too tall and turn yellow, and the old leaves will fall off. If the light is too strong and is not blocked in time, the leaves will be sunburned and turn yellow.

3. Too much fertilizer: Too much fertilizer is applied during maintenance and it cannot be fully absorbed, which will burn the root system and the leaves will turn yellow.

2. Solution

1. Appropriate watering: If you water too much, move it to a well-ventilated place. In serious cases, remove it from the pot and let the soil dry before planting it back. If there is a lack of water, add water in an appropriate amount. Do not water it thoroughly at once to avoid affecting growth.

2. Scattered light: Move the plants in the shade to a place with scattered light and let it bask in the sun. This is also caused by too strong light. There is no way to turn the yellow leaves back to normal. You can only move it to a place with scattered light, water it appropriately to cool it down, and wait for it to grow new buds.

3. Prune roots and change soil: If too much fertilizer is applied, the plant must be removed from the pot in time, the burned roots must be cut off, the soil must be changed and replanted. Fertilize in moderation in the later stage.
