What to do if the leaves of osmanthus turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of osmanthus turn yellow

1. Appropriate temperature

15-28℃ is the optimum temperature for osmanthus growth. The temperature is too high in summer. If it is not cooled down or is still exposed to the sun, its leaves will easily turn yellow. If the temperature is too low in winter and proper insulation measures are not taken, its leaves will turn yellow. Therefore, when raising osmanthus, you should pay attention to cooling in the summer and put it in a cooler place, and pay attention to keeping warm in the winter and move it indoors.

2. Reasonable watering

This flower is not tolerant to waterlogging. Once too much water is given, it will easily cause its roots to rot, and rotten roots will inevitably cause yellow leaves. Therefore, when planting this plant, you must choose loose soil with good drainage. In addition, do not water it too frequently during daily watering, and do not water too much at one time. Just water it after the soil in the pot is dry.

3. Correct fertilization

If not enough fertilizer is applied, the leaves of this plant will turn yellow. Therefore, we need to apply fertilizers reasonably during its growth period. Liquid fertilizers and compound fertilizers are both acceptable, but be careful not to use too high a concentration. In addition, we must change the pot and soil in time to ensure that the soil in the pot is not compacted and that there are enough nutrients in the soil. It is worth noting that you should not be in a hurry when applying fertilizer. Applying too much fertilizer at one time or too high a concentration is not conducive to its growth, and may even cause its roots to burn and its leaves to turn yellow.

4. Change the soil quality

It prefers slightly acidic soil. If the soil is alkaline or becomes alkaline, the leaves of this plant may turn yellow. To keep the soil acidic, you can add a little ferrous sulfate or leftover beer when watering. Also, please note that both the ferrous sulfate solution and beer must be diluted, and the concentration should not be too high.
