How to grow potted magnolia

How to grow potted magnolia

1. Acidic soil

Potted white magnolias need to be provided with suitable soil, preferably acidic soil with good drainage, and rich in humus. Humus soil can be mixed with river sand, bone meal, etc. to ensure that it is permeable and nutritious, which is very suitable for the growth of white magnolias. After 1-2 years of cultivation, the pot needs to be changed and new potting soil needs to be provided to ensure growth space and nutrients.

2. Water Management

The water requirement is different at different growth stages. In spring, water thoroughly once a week, in summer, once in the morning and once in the evening. In autumn, when the temperature gradually turns cooler, water can be applied every 4-5 days. In winter, reduce the number of waterings and keep the soil in the pot dry. If the surrounding climate is relatively dry, you can spray water around the plants appropriately. If the soil becomes alkaline, add an appropriate amount of vinegar to the water.

3. Fertilizer management

The nutrient requirements are different at different growth stages. In early spring, nitrogen fertilizer is mainly applied, while in summer and autumn, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are mainly applied. The amount of fertilizer applied each time should not be too much or too concentrated.

4. Light supplement

To ensure growth, appropriate lighting needs to be provided, with sufficient sunlight during the growing period, especially during the flowering period. In summer and early autumn, it needs to be placed in a semi-shaded place and cannot be exposed to strong sunlight.
