Find out the cause and completely solve the yellowing problem of purple root orchid leaves, making them shiny and energetic!

1. Normal phenomenon

If your purple root orchid has just been planted, you don’t need to be so nervous about its yellowing leaves, because this is a normal phenomenon and you don’t need to pay much attention to it. Usually, within a week after planting it, its leaves may turn yellow, which means it is acclimatizing, so it is a very normal phenomenon. After this period of time, its leaves will quickly return to green. But if you are really worried, you can cut off the yellow leaves. After about a month, it will start to grow wildly.

2. Improper fertilization

If you apply too much fertilizer to it, it will easily turn yellow, which is what we often call fertilizer damage. Too much fertilizer will make the plant have too much nutrition and its roots will not be able to absorb it all at once, thus burning the roots. Therefore, we need to pour some water on it to dilute it, and pay attention to controlling the amount of fertilizer in the future. In addition, you cannot apply too little fertilizer, otherwise it will cause nutrient deficiency and affect the leaves.

3. Improper watering

Be sure to control when watering it, because too much water will cause the leaves to turn yellow. Generally, when watering it, do not water it when the soil in the pot is not dry. Water it when it is dry. Just keep the soil in the pot moist. Do not let the water be too much or too little. This way, its leaves can grow well and be shiny at all times.

4. Caused by high temperature

Anyone who has raised it knows that it prefers cool and humid places. In such an environment, its leaves rarely have problems. However, if it is in summer, the temperature will be very high and the air will be relatively dry, so the leaves will turn yellow. At this time, we don’t have to worry too much. As long as autumn comes, this phenomenon will disappear.
