How to grow sesame flowers

How to grow sesame flowers

1. Soil

Sesame flowers are more suitable for cultivation in sandy or humus soil that is rich in nutrients, loose in texture, and has good drainage. Continuous cropping is not allowed, otherwise it will lead to variety degeneration and slow growth.

2. Temperature

It likes a shady and humid environment and is relatively cold-resistant. 0-20℃ is the most suitable temperature for its growth. In the summer, timely heatstroke prevention and cooling measures should be taken to keep the temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.

3. Lighting

It is more suitable for a semi-shady growing environment, and should avoid prolonged direct sunlight, otherwise the flowers will wilt and grow slowly. During the high temperature period in summer, it is advisable to carry out sunshade work such as building sheds.

4. Fertilization

It is not very tolerant to fertilizer, so the time and amount of fertilization should be controlled. When the soil is fertile, fertilizer is generally not applied, otherwise it will easily cause death.

5. Watering

A relatively humid environment is beneficial to its health, and regular spraying of water mist around it for humidification is essential. Daily watering can be controlled to watering once every 4-5 days. During the rainy season, attention should be paid to drainage to prevent root disorder and root rot.

6. Notes

Attention should be paid to timely disinfection of the soil, and chemical pesticides such as dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane and carbendazim can be used for disease prevention and control. Drain the water in time, otherwise the plants will easily grow abnormally.
