Breeding methods and precautions of Jade Kylin

1. Soil

When breeding jade qilin, it is sufficient to use a substrate with good drainage. It is recommended to add an appropriate amount of river sand when preparing the soil to improve the drainage performance. As long as the soil is not waterlogged during the growth period, normal growth can be maintained.

2. Watering

It has strong drought resistance, so watering should be done while the soil is dry rather than wet. Water the plant when you find the soil in the pot is dry, and make sure it is watered thoroughly at one time. Growth is slow in winter and the amount of water needs to be reduced. If you water too much, the plant will not be able to absorb it and will easily suffer from water accumulation and root rot.

3. Lighting

It likes light, so when managing it, it should be placed in a light place to let it get more sun. In spring, autumn and winter, the plant can get sunlight all day long. The more sunlight it gets, the more vigorous its growth will be. If it is maintained outdoors, it must be shielded from strong sunlight in the summer and not exposed to direct sunlight as it is easy to get sunburned.

4. Temperature

It likes to grow in an environment with a temperature between 22 and 28 degrees. High and low temperatures will hinder its growth. During the hot summer months, the temperature should be kept below 30 degrees. The plants will enter a dormant state at 35 degrees. When the temperature drops in winter, it should be moved indoors and the minimum temperature should be controlled above 7 degrees.

5. Fertilization

It does not require much fertilizer, so it is better to apply less rather than more fertilizer, and it must be low-concentration fertilizer. During the growing season, decomposed fertilizer water should be applied every 20 days. Remember not to use raw fertilizers or concentrated fertilizers, otherwise it will cause fertilizer damage and harm the growth of the plants. Stop applying fertilizer in winter and resume management after the temperature rises in the second year.

6. Notes

During management, it should be placed in a well-ventilated environment. If the ventilation environment is poor, it is easy to be infected by scale insects. In addition, it is also important to remember to repot the plant every year and do root pruning at the same time.
