How to grow Nandina domestica bonsai and how to grow its roots

1. Breeding methods

1. Soil: It has relatively high requirements on the soil, which must be fertile, loose and breathable. Remember not to use soil that is too acidic or sticky, as it will affect growth and cause poor growth.

2. Fertilization: The demand for nutrients during the peak growth season is relatively high, so topdressing must be applied in time. Fertilize twice a month until July. When applying fertilizer, it is best to dilute it with clean water first, and apply thin fertilizer frequently for supplementary fertilizer so that it can be better absorbed. If the concentration of fertilizer is too high, it is easy to burn the plants.

3. Watering: It likes a humid environment. During the growth period, the soil should be kept slightly moist and watered regularly. Especially during the flowering stage, it is best to water once a day to provide sufficient moisture. But be careful not to overdo it, as stagnant water can cause root rot.

4. Light: Likes light, but afraid of strong light. It should be placed in a place with sufficient diffuse light at ordinary times. The light is soft in spring, autumn and winter, and it can be exposed to direct light occasionally. But the light in summer is relatively strong, so you have to avoid it in time.

2. How to grow roots

If you want the roots to grow stronger, you must first pay attention to the soil quality. You can mix it yourself with leaf mold, garden soil, and sandy soil, and finally add some decomposed base fertilizer. This way, the roots will grow better with sufficient nutrients. Also pay attention to the amount of watering. It should be appropriate and water should not accumulate, otherwise it will be difficult for the roots to breathe and the roots will easily rot.
